Psychological Assessment seeks to answer questions regarding psychological functioning and can aid in diagnosis and treatment planning for individuals. Dr.Cramer-Hammann conducts evaluations to asses functioning in the areas of personality, cognition, attention/concentration, memory, academic achievement and neuropsychology.
The evaluation process includes the following steps:
Diagnostic Interview - This is an opportunity to gather relevant clinical and background information and determine those assessment measures that will best assist in answering the referral question.
Test Administration - This step is the one-on-one work between the patient and a licensed psychologist. The length of administration is dependent on the measures administered and the work pace of the patient.
Report Prepraration - Once all of the data has been gathered, the psychologist analyzes and interprets the information. A written report is created and disseminated to interested parties, including the patient and referring physician.
Review of Report - If possible, the psychologist meets with the patient and the parents, if the patient is a minor, to review the assessment results. Patient questions are answered and future therapy sessions are scheduled if appropriate.
